Train With a Doctor of Physical Therapy From Anywhere in the US
Nex offers online coaching anywhere in the US and virtual physical therapy for anyone located in Florida, all of it one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. We write your program, check your form, and answer your questions.
You might travel for work, live nowhere near Miami, or train in a garage gym three states away. Your program still gets written for your body, your history, and your equipment, not pulled off a template.
Online Coaching or Virtual Physical Therapy: Which One Fits?
It depends on two things:
whether something hurts right now, and
where you'll be during your sessions.
Online coaching is for people who train and aren't currently injured. It's available anywhere in the US. You get a program built for your goal, feedback on your form, and direct access to Dr. Castro.
Virtual physical therapy is for pain or an injury that's changing how you train. It's available when you're physically in Florida during your session. That includes Florida residents at home and visitors spending the season here.
How Online Coaching at Nex Works
You start with a video consult, get a program written for you, and stay in contact every week while you run it.
Live near North Miami Beach? Start with an in-person assessment at the studio and run the rest of your program online.
-
Your training history, old injuries, goals, schedule, and equipment, plus a movement screen on camera. You leave knowing what we're building first and why.
-
Written for your goal and the days you actually train, laid out session by session so you always know what's next.
-
Film a set, send it, and get feedback on what to keep and what to change.
-
Thirty minutes to go over how the week went and adjust the program. Nothing to fix that week? Skip it.
-
Questions about a lift, a schedule change, or a set that felt off go straight to Dr. Castro.
Virtual Physical Therapy for Anyone in Florida
If you're in Florida during your session, you can do physical therapy by video, including your first evaluation.
Your evaluation runs 60 to 75 minutes. We go through your history, what hurts and when, and how you move, with you performing tests on camera with guidance. You leave with a clear working explanation of what's driving the problem and a plan built around it.
Virtual visits work well for follow-ups, program progressions, consultations before you decide on next steps, and staying on plan when you can't make it to the studio.
What video can't do is hands-on treatment. If your evaluation shows you need it, we'll tell you, and in-person physical therapy is available at our North Miami Beach studio or at your home in Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, and Bal Harbour.
Who Online Coaching Is For, and When to See a PT First
Online coaching is for people who already train and want a program built around their body. It isn't treatment for an injury.
You're probably a good fit if:
You train three or more days a week and you're done with programs written for everyone.
You travel or live far from Miami and want the same standard of coaching wherever you are.
An old injury healed, but you still train around it, and you want a program that accounts for it.
You want someone qualified watching your form, not an app counting your reps.
Start somewhere else if:
Something hurts enough to change how you train and you're outside Florida. Start with a licensed physical therapist in your state. Once you're cleared, coaching picks up from there.
Same situation, but you're in Florida. Start with virtual physical therapy, or in-person physical therapy.
What You Need to Train Online
A phone or laptop with a camera, a steady connection, and enough room to move through your full range. Prop the camera so it can see your whole body.
For coaching, train wherever you already train: a commercial gym, your garage, a hotel gym on the road. The program gets written around the equipment you actually have.
For virtual physical therapy, floor space to lie down and room to move is usually enough. If you'll need anything else, like a band or a step, we'll tell you before the visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not while you're outside Florida. Dr. Castro is licensed in Florida, and what counts is where you are during the session, not where you live. Visiting Florida? You can. Live here but traveling? Virtual physical therapy waits until you're back. Online coaching is available anywhere in the US for people who aren't being treated for an injury.
-
For much of what physical therapy does, yes. Evaluation, exercise progression, education, and follow-ups work well over video, and watching you move in your own space can show things a clinic misses. What video can't do is hands-on treatment. If you need it, we'll tell you and set up in-person sessions.
-
Virtual physical therapy evaluates and treats pain or injury, and it's available when you're located in Florida. Online coaching builds strength and performance for people who aren't currently injured, and it's available anywhere in the US. The same doctor writes both. Coaching is not physical therapy and is never billed as it.
-
Yes. After each virtual physical therapy visit, you get a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage depends on your plan, so check with your insurer first. Online coaching is not physical therapy and does not come with a superbill.
